_____12:30 pm- What a long month. The last pathology exam, the pathology shelf exam, and the second module of clinical medicine all in three weeks! Lots of library time, little sleep and a poor diet. Needless to say I feel like complete crap. Mostly because of my behavior last night, too much beer and not enough food. A fitting end to a month of academic adventures. Right now I am sitting at in the airport looking at the plane that will take me on the first leg of what will be a long trip to Morocco (DFW to JFK). I am very excited and a bit nervous. I was running around yesterday like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get everything in order. Becky had made several requests for specific items and I was desperately trying to acquire all of her requests as well as stuff that I would need. Socks for Joe, Peanut M&Ms- 2 lbs., six rolls of film, batteries, a day-pack, ranch dressing, Neutrogena lotion w/spf 15, and various other junk foods and trinkets. My flight to NY continues on to Gatwick so the place is teeming with European businessmen. I wonder what they think of Dallas and of the U.S. in general. I wonder what it will feel like to be in Morocco? I have been to Costa Rica and Mexico and seen third world countries at work, but I think that this will be different. I have been exposed to the Spanish language and the Latino culture due to growing up in Dallas, so Costa Rica and Mexico were not that big of a shock. Morocco on the other hand is Islamic and the people speak Arabic- two things that I know very little about. It should be very interesting. I have to get on my plane now. Cheers.

5:40 pm- I have arrived in New York after an uneventful flight from Dallas. I am at my gate looking at the Royal Air Moroc 747 (a huge 2 level plane) that will transport me 'across the pond'. It has always amazed me that a hunk of metal that size could ever get off the ground. At the next gate down an Air France Concorde is parked. I have never seen one in person. They are much bigger and more bad-ass in person than on the Discovery Channel!
